Welcome to the Putnam Avenue Family Association!
We are in the process of updating the website and will have a newer look in January 2018. In the mean time, lets get to know each other! Sign up for PAFA events, and learn more about us at the School concert and musical in January.
The Putnam Avenue Family Association (PAFA) is also redefining itself. This non-profit organization was set up to raise funds to support school activities like the school dance, talent show, concerts, field trips, and special items needed by teachers and students. And while we will continue this through fundraising efforts, we are re-inventing what our community engagement from a volunteer, parent-led organization looks like.
PAFA recognizes its role in creating an environment of support for our 200+ families, as our children go through adolescence and all of its changes. Our December PAFA meeting focused primarily on creating space for parents and caregivers to share issues and connect. This resulted in honest exchanges between parents about the challenges and successes in raising a middle schooler. These relevant, relatable and engaging discussions are an indication of a need to learn more about each other, and to create a network to support ourselves and our community.
We welcome participation by all parents, caregivers, and community partners! If you can share time, talent, or treasure, please join us at our monthly PAFA meetings generally (but not always) on the second Tuesday of the month, from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Putnam Avenue Upper School (Putnam Avenue entrance).
PAFA is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization.
